EARTH DAY EVERY DAY – A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A CREEK
A creek and its environment are a dynamic metaphor for a spirit-filled life. The poet who writes haiku, the musician composing music, and the visual artist draw inspiration from our relationship with the natural world.
In celebration of Earth Day, the Mt. Airy Art Garage will showcase the work of plein aire landscape artist Joyce Jordan Klinefelter. Klinefelter is a longtime Chestnut Hill resident and a 27-year Chestnut Hill art educator. She is a 1999 graduate of The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where she won several landscape prizes and studied landscape with Louis Sloan, among others.
Klinefelter’s show opens with a celebration on Sunday, May 4, from 3 – 5 p.m. and will continue through a closing reception during Mt. Airy’s Finally Friday on May 30, from 6 – 9 p.m.
Klinefelter will offer two gallery talks, followed by plein aire workshops on Saturday, May 17, and Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. She will also offer student gallery talks by appointment for local high school students.
