Streetscapes REALLY Needs You!
The WMAN Streetscapes Committee will be planting over 60 new street trees in Mt. Airy beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 15. This will be the 16th such planting for the Committee and will bring the total number of trees planted to over 500. It’s possible that you’ve been involved in planting or caring for some of them. We need your help again.
At the request of Friends of Carpenter’s Woods, over half the trees will be native species planted adjacent to Carpenter’s Woods. The rest will be located on other streets throughout the community.
The Committee needs help! No experience is necessary. Tools are provided and refreshments are served. Bring a friend!
Volunteers meet at 9:00 AM at the Allen Lane Art Center (601 W. Allens Lane) for coffee and assignments.
They are paired with Trained Tree Tenders and other landscapes professionals and spread throughout the community to plant bare root street trees provided by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
Your neighbors on the committee really need you this year to get the job done. Please consider giving a few hours of your time and energy to help this project to succeed. Not all jobs require digging or lifting.
To volunteer and for details please contact the WMAN Streetscapes Committee: Doris Kessler firstname.lastname@example.org or 215.242.0651.
