Streetscapes Spring Planting – Volunteers needed April 22 Saturday

COME OUT TO PLANT TREES & SPRUCE UP OUR GREENSPACES!

We need volunteers on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 9:00 AM at the Allen Lane Art Center

The West Mt. Airy Neighbors Streetscapes Committee will plant several new street trees on Saturday, April 22.

We will also be sprucing up our greenspaces at Emlen Circle, the Gateway and Neighborwoods.

Volunteers meet at 9:00 AM at the Allen Lane Art Center (601 W. Allens Lane) for coffee and assignments.  They are paired with trained Tree Tenders and landscape professionals, then spread throughout the community to plant bare root street trees provided by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the Plant a Million initiative.

The Committee needs help!  No experience is necessary. Tools are provided and refreshments are served.

Please consider giving a few hours of your time and energy to help this entirely volunteer driven project succeed.  Bring a friend.

To volunteer and for details please contact the WMAN Streetscapes Committee member Vivian Rowe at vivierowe@gmail.com or call Doris Kessler at  215.242.0651.

WE HOPE YOU’LL JOIN US!
