Tree Tenders Update

WMAN Streetscapes Committee has been planting street trees in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Tree Tenders program since the fall of 2007.

In that period our group has planted almost 600 trees in Mt. Airy at no expense to homeowners.  PHS supplied the trees, and local Tree Tenders trained by PHS, along with other volunteers from the community, have planted them.

PHS Tree Tenders Program  is facing a funding shortfall this year and has asked for our help. The organization needs to raise $11,000  to meet its goal of planting 400 trees citywide this fall.  Eighteen of those trees will be planted in our neighborhood.

Please support our local tree planting program and PHS’s citywide work by making a donation today.  Every gift counts – no matter how big or small.

For information on making a donation please, visit

Donations need to be made by October 2, in time for the fall tree order to be placed.

Thank you so much for your support!
